The man behind the decks of one of hip-hop's classic tracks has passed away.

Rodney Bryce, who was known among the music community as DJ E-Z Rock, died Sunday at the age of 46, reports Rolling Stone. The cause of death is still unknown.

Bryce teamed up with MC Rob Base for the dancefloor anthem "It Takes Two," a 1988 single that would go on to become of hip-hop's most recognizable tracks. The duo's debut album It Takes Two, which also featured the familiar song "Joy and Pain," would go platinum and charted as high as number 31 on the Billboard 200.
