Former Wisteria Lane resident Nicollette Sheridan has filed a lawsuit against ABC and Desperate Housewives executive producer Marc Cherry, alleging that Cherry physically assaulted her, and that when she complained about it, it led to her dismissal from the show.
The 46-year-old actress is suing ABC, ABC Studios, Touchstone Television and Cherry for $20 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
On top of wrongful termination, the seven-count complaint alleges assault and battery, gender violence, discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and age, retaliatory termination, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
"While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit," ABC Studios said in a statement.
Reps for Sheridan and Cherry did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.
