Dermot Mulroney Will Romance Emmy Rossum on Shameless

Showtime's Shameless is adding some romantic tension to its fifth season, courtesy of Dermot Mulroney.

The 50-year-old actor has landed a season-long role on the drama that thinks its a comedy, and it appears as though his character will be the latest object of Fiona's affection. Mulroney will play Sean Pierce, a former troublemaker and recovering addict who becomes Fiona's new manager at Patsy's Pies. And yes, their flirtation may turn into something greater.

Celebrity tans gone wrong

Rossum joins a growing list of women who Mulroney has romanced on screen. On television, he's recently taken on guest roles opposite Laura Dern on Enlightened and Zooey Deschanel on New Girl, and in film, he's starred with Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz in My Best Friend's Wedding and Bridget Fonda in Point of No Return.

Season 5 of Shameless will air in 2015.
