NBC has named Minnesota governor and former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura as an analyst for its upcoming XFL football broadcasts, to begin Feb. 3, 2001. The new league is co-owned and operated by NBC and World Wrestling Federation Entertainment. "We're thrilled to have one of the most interesting and colorful leaders in America today joining us as an integral part of the XFL," said Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Sports and Olympics.
