Twentieth Century Fox is finally moving forward with the anticipated Deadpool movie, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The wisecracking antihero might not be as well-known as Batman, Superman or Spider-Man, but Deadpool's postmodern sensibilities — breaking the fourth wall, subverting superhero tropes — is a perfect fit for today's day and age.

QUIZ: How well do you know Lost?

Ryan Reynolds will reprise the role of Deadpool, which he first played in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But based on previously leaked test footage of a Deadpool movie, Reynolds will be playing much more enjoyable version of the beloved character than in his X-Men appearance.

The movie marks Tim Miller's film directorial debut and if Rhett Reese is to be believed, it will be based on the previously leaked script Reese and Paul Wernick wrote.

The Deadpool movie is currently slated for a Feb. 12, 2016, release — only 17 months away. Are you excited?
