Just hours after a gunman opened fire in a theater in Louisiana on Thursday, another gun-related tragedy struck the entertainment industry.
On Friday morning, a former associate producer for Deadliest Catch was shot and killed in front of his home in Pasadena. Joe McMahon was 25 years old.

According to IMDB, he worked on Deadliest Catch in 2013.
The local ABC News affiliate reported police were called to the area at 2:19 a.m. after neighbors heard gunshots and a car speeding away. At this point, police have no suspects or motive for the shooting, and say they do not believe McMahon had any gang ties or was involved with drugs. There had been an officer-involved shooting in the area a week earlier, but police said it does not appear to be related to the McMahon incident.
His body was found with multiple gunshot wounds one driveway over from where he lived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to CBS, McMahon's grandfather is former CBS News reporter Bob Flick.
