The Daytime Emmy Awards are heading to the CW, Variety reports.
The move will mark the first time in the ceremony's 36-year history that it has not aired on a Big Three network, as the show has rotated between CBS, ABC and NBC. This year's telecast will air Sunday, Aug. 30, from Los Angeles' Orpheum Theater.
The fate of the soap opera kudosfest was left up in the air after CBS passed on airing the awards this year. ABC, which broadcasted it last year, also passed. (NBC dropped out of the rotating deal in 2004.) In addition to the CW, several cable networks were in the running to carry the show.
Last year's Daytime Emmys attracted its lowest ratings yet: a mere 5.4 million.
Nominations for this year's awards will be announced May 14 during the fourth hour of Today.
