Darren Aronofsky to Direct HBO's Hobgoblin Pilot

Oscar-nominated Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky will helm the HBO pilot Hobgoblin, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project, which is still in development, focuses a group of con men and magicians who rely on their deception skills to help defeat Hitler and the Germans during World War II.

Michael Chabon (Wonder Boys) and his wife Ayelet Waldman (Bad Mother) will write the pilot. Aronofksy, who dropped out of directing the Wolverine sequel in March, will also serve as executive producer. Hobgoblin will mark his first foray into television.
