There's much to like in the new trailer for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, but just as much to baffle and intrigue as well. We'd expect nothing less from the director of Inception (and this of course explains the mini Inception cast reunion in this film). The story takes place about eight years after the events in The Dark Knight, and Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is returning to Gotham from who knows where. There are lots of Escher-esque stairs involved though.

From Bridesmaids to Thor: The best movies of 2011
There's not a lot of plot to detail, but plenty of menace and new-to-Gotham faces: Tom Hardy as a gas mask-wearing Bane, Marion Cotillard as a peppy Wayne Enterprises board member, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as beat cop John Blake and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, whose alter ego is Catwoman. We're liking her lace mask, sultry whisper and scary-sexy vibe so far.
