The Real Housewives of New Jersey may be losing another housewife: Danielle Staub appears to have been booted from the reality series' third season, according to Life & Style.

A source tells the magazine that the 48-year-old Jersey girl was shocked she was asked not to return. Staub has long been a source of controversy for New Jersey — see: her criminal past — and kept the chatter going this summer when she debuted the single "Real Close" on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live.

Bravo declined to comment on whether Staub would appear in Season 3. "We are just focused on Season 2," a rep for the series said. "We haven't made any decisions on Season 3."

"Actually, I'm not even thinking about season 3 right now as I am considering many incredible options that have been presented to me," Staub said on her Twitter account. "Don't worry next year, I'll still be the one you either love to hate or hate to love."

Staub will appear in the Season 2 finale (Monday, Aug. 23 at 10/9c), as well as the two-part reunion special (airing over two weeks on Aug. 30 at 10/9c and Sept. 6 at 9/8c).
