Dance Judge Mia Michaels Explains Why Mormons Have Moves

Mia Michaels by Kesley McNeal/Fox

Dancing with the Stars 's Julianne and Derek Hough. So You Think You Can Dance's Chelsea Hightower, Thayne Jasperson, Benji and Lacey Schwimmer. Why are so many talented dancers coming out of Utah? "Because they have no social life," says Think You Can Dance judge and choreographer Mia Michaels. It's the Mormon thing: No sex, drugs, drinking. So dancing becomes a great outlet."

Michaels herself had a hard time adapting to the stringent liquor laws during a trip to Salt Lake City. "I remember going there once and you can't have a glass of wine after rehearsals because nothing is open. And then in the morning, you say, "OK, I need coffee." And they say, 'Um, no, it's Sunday.' I was like, ' What?'" - Deborah Starr Seibel
