The CW Developing Tales From the Darkside Reboot

The CW is developing a remake of horror anthology series Tales From the Darkside, with an eye toward airing it in the summertime. George A. Romero was behind the 1980s original; this time, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are among the executive producers.

Joe Hill is writing the CW reinvention, which comes from CBS TV Studio. Mitch Galin, Heather Kadin and Jerry Golod are also executive producing.

Hill is a comic book writer and author whose credits include Locke & Key. He's also the son of author Stephen King, whose novel Under the Dome turned into a hit summer series for CBS this year.

The original Tales from the Darkside aired in syndication for four years, producing 90 episodes. Several of King's stories were adapted for the series, along with Clive Barker, Frederik Pohl, Harlan Ellison and others. The series also spawned a movie in 1990.
