The CW apparently really loves its bows and arrows. The network of Arrow is developing a new take on another hero who's skilled in the archery department: Robin Hood.

The show, which has the working title Sherwood, has been given a script order by the CW. Sherwood takes place in 1072 England and follows the tale of a young noblewoman who seeks help from the long-vanished Robin of Locksley to free her serf boyfriend from ruthless Norman occupiers. In doing so, she inadvertently joins up with the fabled Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Together, the group looks to inspire new hope for Nottingham and its oppressed people.

Tze Chun, whose credits include Cashmere Mafia and the feature Children of Invention, is writing, while Dan Jinks (Emily Owens, M.D.) will executive produce. CBS TV Studios is behind Sherwood.
