Cougar Town Hires New Showrunner

Gary Unmarried's Ric Swartzlander has been tapped as Cougar Town's new showrunner and executive producer, Deadline reports.
Swartzlander succeeds co-creators Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel, who confirmed last week that they will step down from day-to-day duties as the show moves from ABC to TBS next season. Lawrence, who is developing new projects for Warner Bros. TV, will remain as executive producer, while Biegel will become a consulting producer.

Swartzlander's other credits include Samantha Who? and Sports Night.
Cougar Town wraps up its third season — and its run on ABC — with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday at 8/7c. Season 4, which will consist of 15 episodes, will debut early next year on TBS.
