Contact, the dance musical with no live or original music, won four awards at Sunday night's Tony awards, including the prize for best new musical. The acclaimed revival of Kiss Me, Kate took home five trophies, including one for best musical revival. Copenhagen was named best new play, and Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing won the award for best revival of a play. Elton John and Tim Rice, who didn't attend the ceremony, won the award for best original score for Aida, which took home three additional awards despite being denied a nomination for best new musical.
