Whitney Houston's mother Cissy Houston has opened up about the late singer in a new memoir, Remembering Whitney,and in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

"I'm angry she died alone, in those conditions," Houston wrote about her daughter's Feb. 11 drowning in a bathtub, in an excerpt obtained by People. A coroner's report later showed that the 48-year-old had drugs, including cocaine, in her system. "She started partying and she didn't really know how to stop. I used to wonder what she was doing at night, where she was," Houston wrote.But Houston doesn't blame the singer's ex-husband Bobby Brown for her troubles. "I blame him for the way he treated her," Houston explained, "but I don't blame him for her drug problems." Though she added: "He was no help to her at all."

As for rumors about Whitney's alleged romantic relationship with her creative director Robyn Crawford, Houston wrote, "I just didn't want her with my daughter. I know nothing about a romantic relationship. That's what everybody said but they didn't know either."Winfrey addressed the rumors head-on on Monday's Oprah's Next Chapter, during which Houston admitted that she never cared for Crawford."Would it have bothered you if your daughter, Whitney, was gay?"
