Chuy Bravo, Chelsea Handler's diminutive assistant on Chelsea Lately, has dropped out of ABC's new celebrity diving show Splash because of a foot fracture, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

The injury occurred during the show's first taping on Monday, but didn't happen in the water, according to TMZ, which first reported the news. Rather, Chuy attempted to jump on a table in the lounge area near the pool during taping, but the table broke and Chuy fractured his heel bone in his subsequent fall, according to TMZ.

TV Scorecard: What's renewed? What's canceled?

Chuy, was coached by Olympic swimmer Greg Louganis, didn't even know how to swim, let alone dive, when he signed on for the show, according to TMZ. He'll be replaced by Brandi Chastain, the U.S. soccer star who famously took her jersey off after the team's World Cup victory in 1999.

Though Chuy will not be able to dive, an ABC rep said that he "will continue to be a part of this season."

Splash premieres Tuesday, March 19 at 8/7c. Will you watch?
