Chris Wood Is Suiting Up for Supergirl

The Vampire Diaries alum heads to National City!

Chris Wood isn't ready to leave the CW just yet.

The Vampire Diaries, Carrie Diaries and Containment alum is joining the cast of Supergirl as a series regular in Season 2 this fall. TVLine first reported the news that Wood will be playing a "surprise DC character," though specific details about how he'll fit into Kara's (Melissa Benoist) world are still being kept under wraps.

Supergirl is adding a gay character in Season 2

Wood joins Ian Gomez and Floriana Lima in a sophomore season that will feature some fan favorites. Teen Wolf'sTyler Hoechlin will guest star as Superman and the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, drops in as president of the United States.

Supergirl Season 2 premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.
