Upright Citizens Brigade performer Chris Gethard has replaced Jon Heder as the lead in Comedy Central's new sitcom, Big Lake.

Jon Heder exits Comedy Central sitcom

Heder left Big Lake (working title) last week over "creative differences," according to his rep. Gethard, 29, will now play the part of an unemployed IT specialist who moves back in with his parents and younger brother.Gethard joins Saturday Night Live alums Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz in the series, which will be produced by Gary Sanchez Productions, the company owned by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy. His casting was first reported by The Comic's Comic blog.Production on the 10-episode season starts next week in New York.

SNL alums join Jon Heder in Comedy Central sitcom

A longtime UCB performer and teacher, Gethard is part of the improv supergroup The Stepfathers, which also includes SNL player Bobby Moynihan and The Office'sZach Woods.
Gethard has also written for SNL and the Onion News Network. Screen credits include Hope & Faith, The Knights of Prosperity and the upcoming McKay film The Other Guys, starring Ferrell, and written by McKay and Henchy.
