ABC's Chris Cuomo is heading to CNN, the network confirmed Tuesday.
"Chris is an accomplished anchor who is already an established name in morning television, as well as a widely respected investigative journalist," CNN President Jeff Zucker said in a statement. "This is a fantastic opportunity to do what I value the most and hopefully to do the work that I do best," Cuomo said. "While it's very difficult to leave ABC News, a place filled with people I have loved working with for many years, I am excited about my future with CNN."
CNN confirmed that the 20/20 co-anchor will co-host a new morning show. Cuomo's co-host, according toTMZ, which first reported the news, is expected to be Erin Burnett.
Cuomo won't be the only former ABC face on CNN. Since Zucker was named CNN president in November, the former Today show executive producer has also recruited ABC Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper and ABC correspondent John Berman.
