Country singer Chely Wright wed her partner, GLBT civil rights activist Lauren Blitzer, People reports.

The ceremony took place at Blitzer's aunt's home in Connecticut and was presided over by a reverend and a rabbi since Wright is Christian and Blitzer is Jewish. Both brides wore white wedding gowns without veils. "We like our hair too much!" they explained to the magazine.

Wright, 40, met Blitzer, 30, two weeks after coming out last spring.
"The freedom of being out and open about who I am allowed me to find and fall in love with Lauren — the most amazing woman I've ever known," Wright said.
