CHEERLEADERS RULE BOX OFFICE
Bring It On was cheering "victory" at the box office over the weekend. According to early estimates, the cheerleading flick starring Kirsten Dunst opened at No. 1, grossing a "rah"-worthy $17.4 million. The modestly budgeted picture (it was made for a reported $10 million) blew away the weekend's other newcomers, The Art of War and The Crew. War, the critically ambushed Wesley Snipes actioner, debuted in second place with $11.2 million while the Richard Dreyfuss/Burt Reynolds geriatric mob comedy The Crew was D.O.A. at No. 7 with $4.1 million. Last week's top movie, The Cell, fell to No. 3 with $9.6 million. Rounding out the top five were Space Cowboys at No. 4 ($6.6 million) and The Original Kings of Comedy ($6.1 million).
