Ready to see Charlie Brown get rejected by Peppermint Patty via FaceTime from his iPhone?

That scenario might not be 100 percent accurate but, hey, anything's possible now that Charlie Brown has a new home: Apple. Right on the heels of its whopper of an announcement that it's reuniting Jennifer Garner with J.J. Abrams for a series, The Hollywood Reporter reported Friday that the Peanuts gang is heading to Silicon Valley.

5 Facts You Didn't Know About It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Apple teamed with DHX Media, a Canadian kids' content company that produces and owns well-known properties such as Teletubbiesand the Degrassifranchise, to create a batch of series, specials and shorts using Charles M. Schulz's iconic characters.

While children's programming is an increasingly fertile ground for big media players -- HBO produces Sesame Street, Netflix is upping its kids slate and Apple already entered a partnership with Sesame Workshop -- the Charlie Brown/Peanuts brand draws adults too, its annual holiday specials like It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brownstill wooing valuable primetime viewers when they air. Apple's Peanuts content will start coming out in 2019 -- a year that's clearly going to be a big one for Apple in the content space as it already has Steve Carell, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston lined up for a series about a big-network morning show, Chris Evans in a legal thriller, and much more.
