Lions and aliens and domes, oh my!

That pretty much sums up CBS' summer drama slate, which kicks off this week with the Season 3 premiere of Under the Dome, followed by the next week's debut of new thriller Zoo, and the return of Extant.

In a summer teaser video, exclusive to TVGuide.com, new Dome cast member Marg Helgenberger previews how her character may shake things up, while producer Neal Baer hints that some returning characters may have been hiding their true intentions. "Some of the characters we thought might have been good or have good intentions maybe don't."

Zoo, based on the James Patterson novel of the same name, stars James Wolk as a zoologist who believes that animals are starting to organize coordinated attacks on humans around the planet.

And Extant's sophomore run picks up six months after the end of Season 1, with Molly (Halle Berry) institutionalized in a recovery center. Berry teases the rebooted season, which features her teaming up with a cop (new cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan), as "sexier" and "edgier" than the first season.
