According to Casem's daughter Kerri, she and her family are unaware of the location of her father's corpse. "When we called the mortuary on July 15, they couldn't tell us where Casey was," family spokesman Danny Deraney said. "Then they said they couldn't confirm or deny whether he was there." Deraney added that the Santa Monica Police Department contacted the mortuary and confirmed the body had been moved. The owner of the mortuary also verified the body has not been in his care for at least two days.
Casem died last month at 82 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. In recent years, his three children from his first marriage were involved in a legal dispute with his second wife, Jean, after she Jean repeatedly blocked the children from visiting their father. A visitation agreement was eventually reached, and a Los Angeles judge gave Kerri the authority to implement end-of-life measures for the critically ill radio icon in June.
