Kitty Walker is heading for a wedding on the Dec. 2 episode of ABC's Brothers & Sisters. With the big day nearing, TVGuide.com invited Emily VanCamp, who plays Kitty's stepsis Rebecca, to preview the nuptials, as well as weigh in on certain rumblings of on-set romances.

TVGuide.com: First off, I want to say that you are very pretty.
Emily VanCamp: I thank you!

TVGuide.com: You also appear to be very tall....
VanCamp: I am pretty tall, actually.

TVGuide.com: As much as I wanted to bump into you at TV Guide's Emmys after-party, a part of me was like, "Man, she'll be towering over me."
VanCamp: [Laughs] That's hilarious!

TVGuide.com: Is this your first writers' strike?
VanCamp:
Oh yeah. And it's pretty scary. I'm hoping it gets resolved quickly because there are a lot of jobs on the line.

TVGuide.com: Are you doing the picket-line thing?
VanCamp: I may go today, actually, to support them. But I get all nervous in those sorts of situations. I may be out there myself in June, from what I hear!

TVGuide.com: Yes, similar issues are supposed to come up for SAG in a few months.
VanCamp: I know. I feel like in most ways the writers are out there doing the dirty work for all of us. So I should get my butt out there.

TVGuide.com: So [writer] Cliff [Olin] is out there, and [writer-executive producer] Robbie [Baitz]?
VanCamp: Everybody is out there. It's really something else.

TVGuide.com: Maybe you could bring them some sandwiches or cookies.
VanCamp: I was thinking about baking some cupcakes and stuff, so maybe I'll do that.

TVGuide.com: How many episodes did you guys get done before the strike hit?
VanCamp: We're still shooting our 11th episode, and we may shoot 12, because we have a draft of it, but I'm not really sure what's going on with that. I'm just reporting to work when I'm told because I have to. It's hard to have to cross the picket line when my buddies are out there.

TVGuide.com: Well, if the Episode 12 draft isn't quite there, you could always ad-lib your way through the blank spots.
VanCamp: Well, we're already sort of doing that in this 11th episode! We'll see what happens.

TVGuide.com: Obviously, Rebecca and Justin were getting very close — like, Marcia and Greg Brady-close. Does his relapse and her perceived betrayal impair their bond?
VanCamp: I don't think so, because they're at a point where they're family. Obviously it's a really difficult time for Justin, and he did feel betrayed by her, so it was inevitable in that "state" that something would come up. But I don't think that will end their friendship at all.

TVGuide.com: Will the Walkers' solution, the home therapy, nip it in the bud, or does he still have some demons to work through?
VanCamp: Everybody has demons, and there's a road to recovery ahead for Justin. He has a lot of healing to do. So I don't think it's over, but the dramatic part of it is.

TVGuide.com: Speaking of Justin and Rebecca, what is your current sound bite regarding your off-screen relationship with Dave Annable?
VanCamp: I'm not going to say anything. [Laughs] I've learned my lessons in the past.

TVGuide.com: It's unfortunate, though, that it's perceived as "taboo," publicity-wise....
VanCamp: I know, I know. It's such a bizarre thing in this industry, how affected your relationships with people can be by the media. It's just not fun. It adds strain where it doesn't need to be. It's not necessary to talk about it, really, and I don't want to be someone who has people think about me and my relationships [rather than] what I do for a living.

TVGuide.com: Where do things stand with Rebecca and her gal pal Lena? After she caught her and Justin necking....
VanCamp: Oh, I don't think there's much to... they were high-school friends, but Rebecca probably values her relationship with family so much more than her relationship with Lena, especially given what Lena's been doing. She needs a slap in the face, you know? Once everything comes out, there's not much to salvage. That's not a friendship Rebecca needs to save.

TVGuide.com: Is she but one part of Rebecca's somewhat "mysterious" past?
VanCamp: Yeah, Rebecca really does have a mysterious past! Even I'm not particularly aware of it. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: Have they given you any hints as to what she might have been up to in her previous travels?
VanCamp: This girl's been troubled, and you can see it in the character. She's very layered with lots of different feelings and emotions going on inside of her. She's a complicated gal, and her past has everything to do with that.

TVGuide.com: I'm convinced Rebecca has a kid of her own out there.
VanCamp: [Laughs] Oh my god.... I haven't heard that one yet. That would be dramatic, to say the least! Who knows....

TVGuide.com: What's Rebecca up to at Kitty and McAllister's wedding?
VanCamp: Well, it comes as a surprise to Rebecca that Kitty asks her to be a bridesmaid. But it's wonderful for Rebecca to feel included like that. But I'm not really causing any trouble at the wedding. She's behaving herself. The wedding itself is beautifully played by Rob and Calista. She looks absolutely beautiful, and I can't wait for everyone to see it. It's a romantic, very beautiful episode.

TVGuide.com: Is the bridesmaid dress a winner or a clunker?
VanCamp: It's pretty simple — chocolate brown, very pretty and classy.

TVGuide.com: Is romance in Rebecca's future?
VanCamp: I certainly hope so! I'm not sure what's going on, especially with the writers on strike, so I'm not sure.

TVGuide.com: No hookup with a hunky groomsman?
VanCamp: No, nothing like that. But Rachel's [Griffiths] character is on the prowl. She has some stuff going on....

TVGuide.com: Is Eric Winter's Jason back in time for his brother's wedding?
VanCamp: No, he's not.

TVGuide.com: That's a shame. They couldn't have predicted that Viva Laughlin would be a goner by now?
VanCamp: [Laughs] I know!

TVGuide.com: How are your Brothers & Sisters and Everwood experiences similar, and how are they different?
VanCamp: They're very different. On Everwood, the whole cast was my family eventually. I started that show so young, and we lived out there in Utah together, so there was a different sense about it. On [Brothers & Sisters], people are a bit more independent on the set, but still, the brothers are crazy and I'm becoming a lot closer with everyone, which is nice. Coming in as an outsider in the middle [of Season 1] made it more difficult to connect with these people who had already created a family unit.

TVGuide.com: Did you act fast enough to catch Treat Williams on his short-lived TNT series?
VanCamp: No.... I wish!

TVGuide.com: What sort of TV does Emily VanCamp like?
VanCamp: I like mindless television just because it gets my mind off of things. I have guilty pleasures like The Bachelor and America's Next Top Model.... Things I watch religiously include Survivorman, UFC — which is unlike me, but I'm into it anyway —and I have to be honest, I TiVo Oprah every day. I love her!

TVGuide.com: How are you spending your strike downtime? Any put-off projects...?
VanCamp: There's a film project I've been trying to get together for a couple of years now, so I'm trying to get that up and running. Other than that, just going home [to Canada] and spending time with my family. That would be nice.

TVGuide.com: Before we go, do you have one last big tease about what's ahead for Rebecca?
VanCamp: I wish I did, but they don't tell me anything! And everything's been changing....

TVGuide.com: Where does she work right now? Anywhere?
VanCamp: No, but Rebecca does begin, in this episode we're shooting, to find herself. She starts to find a life of her own. She's on a quest to find her own passions, and that's exciting for me to do.
