Disney'sThe Jungle Book was the head of the pack at this weekend's box office, scoring an impressive $103.6 million take, according to Box Office Mojo. Its haul exceeded expectations to become the second-highest April opening ever after Furious 7, which opened at $147.2 million in 2015.

Barbershop: The Next Cut came in second with a $20.2 million haul. The third flick in the franchise is set in Chicago and includes newcomers including Nicki Minaj.

Melissa McCarthy's The Boss came in third, sweeping up $10.2 million in its second week. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came in fourth place at $9 million, followed by Zootopia, which took in $8 million in its seventh week in theaters.
