The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 still slayed at the box office for a third straight weekend, beating the only new major release, Krampus. Mockingjay — Part 2 took $18.6 million for a total of just over $227 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

Krampus, a horror flick about a kid who summons a Santa that's definitely not nice, earned $16 million — a bit of an upset since horror movies aren't exactly traditional holiday fare.

Creed is still in the ring, coming in at third for its second weekend. Strong reviews and word-of-mouth buzz for Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone's Rocky spin-off helped it earn $15.54 million, to bring its total to $65.1 Creed nearly tied with The Good Dinosaur, also in its second weekend. The animated flick took in an estimated $15.51 million, bringing its total to $76 million.

Spectre gained $5.4 million in its fifth weekend for fifth place, while the Seth Rogen comedy The Night Before took sixth place, earning $4.9 million and knocking The Peanuts Movie to No. 7 ($3.5 million). Spotlight ($2.9 million), Brooklyn ($2.4 million) and The Secret in Their Eyes ($1.9 million) closed out the top 10.
