Hunger Games Shoots Down Wrath of the Titans, Mirror Mirror at the Box Office

Wrath of the Titans, Liam Neeson

The Hunger Games kept the weekend's two new releases wanting more.

Last weekend's No. 1 film grossed an estimated $61.1 million in its second week of release, according to Box Office Mojo. The Hunger Games is now the first non-sequel movie to reach $250 million after 10 days in theaters.

ABC Family wins the rights to The Hunger Games

Wrath of the Titans couldn't match Clash of the Titans' $61.2 million opening weekend back in 2010, coming in second place with $34.2 million. Mirror Mirror fared even worse, grabbing $19 million to rank third for the weekend.

At No. 4, 21 Jump Street took in $15 million. Completing the top 5, The Lorax drew $8 million.

Rounding out the top 10: John Carter (No. 6, $2 million); Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (No. 7, $1.2 million); Act of Valor (No. 8, $1 million); A Thousand Words (No. 9, $915,000); and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (No. 10, $835,000).
