Fox has ordered up an additional nine episodes of Bob's Burgers before the animated comedy returns for Season 2, the network announced Monday.
"Last season, Bob's Burgers infused our Sunday lineup with a fresh new voice that was fully embraced by our animation domination fans," Fox's President of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly, said in a statement. "[Executive producers] Loren Bouchard, Jim Dauterive and the team have done an amazing job with the show, and we've got one of the most talented and hilarious voice casts in the business, so we look forward to seeing what they cook up for the next nine episodes."
The comedy, which had one of the highest-rated series premieres when it debuted last January, follows restaurant owner Bob, his wife and their three kids, all of whom help out with the family burger business. This coming season will see Bob expand to a food truck as well as visits from guest voices Kevin Kline and Megan Mullally.
News of the episode order comes just as Fox is expanding their entire animation lineup. In addition to stalwarts such as The Simpsons and Family Guy, Fox debuted Allen Gregory Sunday night and will unveil the animated series spin-off of Napoleon Dynamite next year.
