Bobby Brown is clarifying comments he made over the weekend about his daughter Bobbi Kristina.

After Brown told an audience in Texas Saturday night that "Bobbi is awake; she's watching me," Bobbi Kristina's grandmother, Cissy Houston, said in a statement that her granddaughter had been taken off life support, but remains unresponsive and has suffered irreversible brain damage.

Bobby Brown: "Bobbi Kristina is awake"

"While she is no longer in a medically induced coma ... according to the doctors, she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive," Houston told Us Weekly in a statement. "Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time."

On Sunday, Bobby's sister Tina Brown wrote a Facebook post saying that Bobbi Kristina was awake after being taken off life support, but the post has since been deleted.

Bobby Brown also issued a statement through his lawyer on Monday clarifying that though Bobbi Kristina has opened her eyes, her overall condition is still unknown.

Police suspect foul play in Bobbi Kristina's drowning

"Bobbi Kristina's condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and there has been improvement," the lawyer toldUs Weekly. "Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come."

Bobbi Kristina was rushed to the hospital on Jan. 31 after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Georgia. Police are investigating the incident.
