Blake Shelton is the final addition to the coaching ranks on NBC's upcoming series The Voice.
"We couldn't have a panel that represented the hottest American music without a strong country presence, and Blake is at the top of his game right now," network executive Paul Telegdy said Monday. "Not only is he incredibly charismatic, but his passion for collaborating with and bringing the best out of other talented artists makes him the perfect choice to round out this 'Dream Team' of musician coaches."
The Grammy winner, who's engaged to fellow country star Miranda Lambert, joked, "I'm not sure The Voice knows what they signed on for by bringing me on the show."
After three stages of competition, each coach will have their best contestant compete in the finale where one will be named "The Voice" and receive a recording contract and $100,000.
Last fall, Shelton was named the Male Vocalist of the Year by the 44th annual Country Music Awards and he's also been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
The Voice, hosted by Carson Daly, premieres Tuesday, April 26 at 9/8c on NBC.
