So, Let's Talk About That Big Little Lies Teaser

HBO's spring teaser reel is the gift that keeps on giving for TV fans.

In addition to debuting that brief-but-meaty little moment from Game of Thrones' final season, the preview also offered the first glimpse at some of the cable network's other exciting properties ahead, not the least of which is Big Little Lies Season 2.

In the clip, we are introduced to Meryl Streep's new character, Perry's mom, who is cool as a cucumber but also demands some answers about what happened the night when all the ladies fought back against the abusive Perry (Alexander Skarsgard) and threw him down the concrete steps to his death (side note: rest in pieces, chump).

It looks like she's talking to Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) at the moment, but the magic of scene-splicing for these kinds of things makes it so that we don't know for sure who she's questioning just yet. What we do know, though, is that Madeline will still be decked out in her Holly Golightly getup as she stands for a police line-up alongside her now-partners in crime: Jane (Shailene Woodley), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz) and an extra-frumpled Renata (Laura Dern).

We'll have to wait and see how this factors into the timeline from the tail end of Season 1 since it was originally billed as a limited series and thus gave all these ladies a happy ending -- well, sort of.

We last spotted them all lounging on the beach with their children frolicking about with seagulls and such, as waves crashed upon the shore to create a disturbing parallel to interspersed footage of their final fight with Perry. While it looked like the ladies had finally found peace as a cohesive unit, their faces still wore signs of worry -- and what was worse was that they were all being watched from a distance by the detective (Merrin Dungey) who had been investigating Perry's death.

From the looks of this tiny teaser, there are still some memory gaps to fill between the space of that fateful evening and their seaside romp indeed (which might explain how Skarsgard is going to return to the show).

There's still no word yet on when Season 2 will premiere on HBO, but Big Little Lies' first season is available for streaming on HBO Now.
