Beyonce Tweets Support for Gay Marriage

With the Supreme Court listening to arguments this week about California's Proposition 8 and the federal Defense of Marriage Act, both of which ban same-sex marriage, celebrities including Beyonce are turning to social media to voice their support for gay marriage.

Bey posted a handwritten note via Instagram this week that reads, "If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it #wewillunite4marriageequality! — B."

She's not the only famous face to weigh in on the issue. On Twitter, stars like Kate Walsh, Kristen Bell and Rosie O'Donnell changed their profile pictures to the Human Rights Campaign's official logo indicating support for same-sex marriage: a pink equal sign on a red background.

The Court is expected to rule on the issue of same-sex marriage in June.
