Betty White: You're Never Too Old for Sexual Desire

Betty White says sexual desire doesn't melt away with age. In the November/December issue of AARP Magazine, the 88-year-old says that if her third husband, Password host Allen Ludden, were still alive, they'd be spending a lot of time in bed.

Betty White says sexual desire doesn't melt away with age.

In the November/December issue of AARP Magazine, the 88-year-old says that if her third husband, Passwordhost Allen Ludden, were still alive, they'd be spending a lot of time in bed.

"I don't have a fella, but if Allen — or Robert Redford — were around, we'd have a very active sex life," she says.

However, White wasn't immediately smitten when she first met Ludden. "He bought me a beautiful ring and I threw it back at him so he wore it on a chain around his neck," she says. "He said, 'I'm going to wear it until you put it on your finger.'" The couple married in 1963 and stayed together until his death in 1981.

Although her first marriage to U.S. Army Air Corps pilot Dick Barker didn't last, White says they too had a great sex life. In fact, that's why they walked down the aisle.

"I married my first husband because we wanted to sleep together," she says. "It lasted six months and we were in bed for six months."
