"At such a high point in her life, it's tough," White told Entertainment Tonight, "but I think the less other people have to say about it and let her work it out, it is [for] the better."
Jesse James, Bullock's husband of five years, publicly apologized to his wife and his children for his "poor judgment" Thursday and asked for their forgiveness. A day earlier, In Touch printed a cover story featuring an interview in which model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee claimed to have carried on an 11-month affair with James while Bullock was filming The Blind Side.
Bullock has since pulled out of the London and German premieres for The Blind Side. The 45-year-old actress won the Oscar earlier this month for her performance in the football drama.
"I love her with all my heart," White, 88, told ET. "[She's] one of the greatest human beings on the planet."
