Bethenny Frankel has always been known for her unwavering honesty, and it's no different when it comes to her much-publicized divorce battle.
"I'm going through a brutal, brutal time," Frankel, 42, told ABC News' Nightline. ""It really, really is. I mean, there's no other way to slice it."
Frankel and her soon-to-be-ex-husband Jason Hoppy have been battling for custody of their 3-year-old daughter Bryn ever since they announced they were divorcing at the end of 2012. The couple have been in the limelight ever since Hoppy appeared on Season 3 of Real Housewives of New York City while the two were dating. They went on to star in their own spin-off, Bethenny Getting Married later named Bethenny Ever After.
"I felt like I disappointed people, because I felt like I was this role model, that represented the fairy tale," Frankel said. "I'm definitely bruised."
However, Frankel has no regrets about putting their love story on camera. "I don't regret letting the cameras roll at all," Frankel said. "I could have skated by. I could have stayed on the show and been like, 'Oh, everything's perfect with us. Everything's great.' It made me feel dirty for people to think that I had this perfect relationship and this perfect life."
Fortunately, Frankel has a new talk show — Bethenny — as well as her bestselling Skinnygirl cocktail line to keep her busy. Frankel admits the latter has been especially comforting during these trying times. "I would imagine eventually, sex would be a nice release, but you know, who knows," she said. "If I'm exercising or doing yoga it'll take the edge off on some level. And then I like to have a Skinnygirl cocktail. I'm not going to lie. Honestly. It's mommy juice."
