Tobin had joined Bendik in Philadelphia for a business trip and the couple had gone out Wednesday night celebrating with friends, according to the site. A hotel maid found Bendik's body in his room Thursday afternoon, the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office told TMZ.
Philadelphia police told the site that there is no evidence of foul play or suicide and are treating it as a "sudden death." No drugs or drug paraphernalia were found in Bendik's room, and the incident report makes no mention of alcohol, medications, weapons or injuries to his body, according to TMZ.
Tobin's whereabouts at the time of his death are unknown.
Bendik was the managing partner of AV and Voyeur/DBA nightclubs in Los Angeles. He was also the director of nightlife at Addiction nightclub at The Modern Honolulu. DBA posted a tribute to Bendik on Facebook Thursday night.
