Battlestar, Big Bang Theory Win TCA Awards

Syfy's Battlestar Galactica received the top honor and The Big Bang Theory picked up two awards at the 25th Television Critics Association Awards, a lively, untelevised affair recognizing critics' favorites.HBO earned three awards, the most of any network, but AMC had the best average, picking up a major prize for each of its scripted shows. Mad Men repeated its win for Outstanding Achievement in Drama, and Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston was honored for Individual Achievement in Drama.

Big Bang Theory won for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, and star Jim Parsons received the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Comedy award. The show was the only one to receive two awards.
NBC's ER received the show's Heritage Award, which honors a long-standing program that had a lasting cultural or social impact. Betty White received the Career Achievement award.

Hosted by Chelsea Handler, host of E!'s Chelsea Lately, Saturday night's event was held at The Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena, Calif. The night's acceptance speeches were off-the-record, so we can't tell you who said what, except to note that there were slightly more four-letter words than you're likely to hear at the Emmy Awards.
