On ABC's new comedy Back in the Game, Maggie Lawson stars as Terry Gannon Jr., a single mom who finds herself down on her luck and moves back in with her estranged father, Terry Sr. (James Caan), an ex-athlete nicknamed "The Cannon."

As a former Little League coach, Caan brings a unique expertise to the role. "I was not quite The Cannon, but I was enthusiastic," he said at the Television Critics Association press tour last month. "I got thrown out three times. I chased two of the umpires over the fence with a baseball bat."
