The Bachelorette's Ali Fedotowsky is well aware of the reality show's terrible track record at finding love.
After having her own heart broken by former Bachelor Jake Pavelka, and then watching Pavelka's subsequent relationship with Vienna Girardi come to an end, Ali knows the risks of looking for a relationship on national TV.

"That's one relationship, and my journey is a completely different journey," she tells People. "Everyone is different. Did I go in knowing that I may not end up with someone? Of course I did. I knew that it was a strong possibility."
Still, Ali tells the magazine that throughout her search for the right suitor, she remained positive. "I just had faith in myself," she said. "I had faith that it would work, and if I did end up with someone, I would continue to have that faith. And if I didn't, I would still have that faith in myself."

Ali says knowing that she could still end up alone had an impact on how she interacted with the contestants on the show. "People think that I'm so insecure because I questioned the guys so intensely," she said. "I wanted to be smart and question them and ask them, 'Do you like me for me, the girl from little Williamstown, [Mass.]? Or do you like me just because I'm The Bachelorette?' I had to decipher what guys were there for me."
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
