The Bachelor Producer Suing Spoiler King Reality Steve

The producers of The Bachelor are cracking down on spoilers. NZK Productions and Alternative Television, Inc. are suing spoiler website author Stephen Carbone, aka Reality Steve, for the tactics he employs to get spoilers about the reality dating show, EW reports. NZK Productions and Alternative Television, Inc. are suing spoiler website author Stephen Carbone, aka Reality Steve, for the tactics he employs to get spoilers about the reality dating show, EW reports. They claim that Carbone approaches show employees or other people close to the production to "breach their confidentiality obligations."

In an email that Carbone allegedly wrote to one of those people, he says, "Let me just say, I'm very well aware of your contract. I also know that over 500 contestants have been on this show and not one of them has ever been sued for the $5 million. It's just a scare tactic. Trust me. Just like they had no idea you sent me that last email, they'll have no idea about any correspondence either. I know you're scared and a little paranoid by it, but don't be. Unless they are hacking your email or tapping your phone, there's absolutely no way for them to find out."

He's also reached out to former contestants seeking additional behind-the-scenes intel about the show.

The producers are claiming $75,000 in damages, and the lawsuit claims that Carbone's actions "constitute unfair and illegal business acts" and are "unscrupulous, immoral, unethical, oppressive and injurious."

Carbone famously spoiled the "After the Final Rose" reunion show of The Bachelor Season 13, in which Jason Mesnick dumped Melissa Rycroft, the (un)lucky lady he proposed to in the finale, and then asked runner-up Molly Malaney to go out with him instead. Reality Steve also covers other reality show including Survivor, The Amazing Race and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Do you think Reality Steve has affected The Bachelor's performance after he's spoiled the results? What do you think about about spoilers for reality programs?
