The Bachelor's Chris Harrison: I Never Would Have Predicted This Final Two

The Bachelor's Sean has narrowed his choices down to the final two ladies after sending home a very angry (and silent) AshLee. "Can I at least explain myself please?" Sean asked AshLee after she told him not to walk her out. Sean only managed to get a few sentences out before AshLee, still without saying a word, got into the car. So was AshLee still upset with Sean at the "Women Tell All"? Chris Harrison spills on the recently taped episode and more below.

Were you surprised that Catherine was the most hesitant about the fantasy suites?
Harrison:
It's hard to tell with her because her free-spirited personality throws you off. You think she'd be like, "Fantasy suite, I'm in!" But then you see her heritage and her family and that she has a lot of sides of her. I think that's a perfect mix for Sean because he's a fun-loving guy, but he's very religious and conservative.

The Bachelor's Chris Harrison on Des' Exit: I'm pretty sure Sean let the love of his life go

Were you as shocked as AshLee that she went home?
Harrison: When the three of them were sitting there during the rose ceremony, we pan the camera across the three and you're like one of those isn't the same as the other two. I think AshLee is what Sean aspires to have and he sees what his parents see in her, but I just think that when he spends time with Lindsay and Catherine he realizes, "This is where I am now."

Could you have predicted Lindsay and Catherine in the final two?
Harrison:
Never in a million years. Lindsay was almost cut the first night and Catherine was on the chopping block the last few episodes. [This] may be the most bizarre final 2. I doubt anyone from the beginning would have said, "Yep, it'll be a battle between Catherine and Lindsay."

Was Sean upset by how angry she was?
Harrison:
He thought that AshLee took that moment away from him because he deserved the right to talk to her and explain himself. He was a little bit put off that she didn't give him that. I think she was just so blindsided that she didn't know what to say and in lieu of saying the wrong thing and flying off the handle, she said nothing. It's probably the best thing she could've done, which is to wait for "Women Tell All" when she can have perspective.

Was she still upset at Women Tell All?
Harrison:
There was tension — it was awkward. I haven't seen the final cut, but I hope they show a very awkward moment that none of us knew about or saw coming when AshLee and Sean started talking.

Anything else you can say about Women Tell All?
Harrison:
One of my favorite interviews was Sarah. She's so eloquent... when she expresses herself, and I just wanted to grab her and hug her and tell her it's OK. But that's exactly what she doesn't want because everybody tells her that. But that was definitely the most heartfelt moment.

What about Tierra?
Harrison: She didn't quite "get it" as much as I wish she had. She still stuck to her guns, played the victim, [and] said it wasn't her, it was the girls. As hard as I tried, I don't think I ever got through to her.

Heading into the final week, did you have a feeling who Sean was going to ultimately choose?
Harrison:
Leaving the first place, I wasn't sure, but once we got to the final place, yes. But only because I have conversations with Sean and talk to him off-camera and I got to see which way he was leaning.

I hear Jennifer Lawrence told you on the Oscars red carpet that she's a fan of the show.
Harrison:
Jennifer Lawrence was awesome. I was so blown away by her performance and I was really looking forward to meeting her. And then she walks up and she tells me how much she loves[the show]. I'm like, "You like The Bachelor?" and she was like, "Duh, I'm a girl."

Who do you think Sean will pick?

The Bachelor airs on Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
