VIDEO: Julie Plec, Liz Tigelaar, Chris Gorham and Others Announce Inaugural ATX Festival

ATX Television Festival

The Vampire Diaries' Julie Plec, Awake creator Kyle Killen and actor/director Peter Billingsley (yes, the boy in the 1983 holiday classic A Christmas Story) have all signed on for the inaugural ATX Television Festival, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Kicking off June 1 in Austin, Texas, the festival will unveil new series, exhibit current and cult favorites, and spotlight unaired pilots and series that were cancelled before their time. Panels as well as Q-and-As with casts and show creator will be part of the fest.

"This is going to be the beginning of a great festival tradition and Austin is going to be a great home for it," Killen says.

In the video below, Plec is joined by writer Liz Tigelaar, Christopher Gorham, Arielle Kebbel, TVGuide.com Staff Editor Robyn Ross and others, sharing why fans and TV junkies should venture to Austin.
