Ashley Madekwe Is Leaving Revenge

This is good news for Emily Thorne.

Ashley Madekwe, who plays social climber Ashley Davenport, is leaving Revenge, Deadline reports. Madekwe was allegedly not picked up for story line reasons.

Her character Ashley Davenport recently finished running PR for Conrad Grayson's gubernatorial campaign (while scheming with Jack and others along the way), but now that Conrad's been elected to office, it seems her time in the Hamptons is done.

Revenge, which struggled throughout its second season, seems to be paring down the sometimes overwhelming soap. Prior to Madekwe, the show had already cut two main characters, Declan Porter (Connor Paolo) and Amanda Clarke (Margarita Levieva). The series creator Mike Kelley was recently replaced as showrunner by Sunil Nayar.
