Oliver & Co. are saying dasvidaniya to Starling City this week!
When Diggle (David Ramsey) finds out that Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) has gone missing after following a lead on Deadshot (Michael Rowe), Team Arrow hightails it to Russia to help out. "Diggle will go very, very far to get Deadshot," Ramsey tells TVGuide.com. "You're going to see him come face-to-face with making a choice as to what kind of man he's going to be when it comes to Deadshot."
Diggle has been the moral compass for Oliver (Stephen Amell), applauding his friend for finally deciding to apprehend his enemies instead of killing them. But Diggle's quest for Deadshot might blind him from that mantra. "He was out for blood and he still is," Ramsey says of Wednesday's episode (8/7c, The CW). "We're really going to deal with some of those things with how Diggle reacts to Deadshot. Deadshot is going to come back and reveal a lot because he is connected to this storyline in a huge way, not just to Diggle, but to the whole season."
It's actually Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), who works at A.R.G.U.S. with Lyla, who points Diggle in the right direction to track down his foe. "Amanda's incarnation on this show will be very, very interesting," he says. "She will serve a large purpose in the course of this season."
But Oliver and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) won't be the only ones joining Diggle on his trip to Russia. Determined to assert her power over Queen Consolidated, Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau) will also tag along. "Isabel is really trying to establish her authority in the company," Glau says. "She really doesn't like being left out on any of his work trips. She feels like she needs to keep an eye on Oliver. At the last minute, he tries to sneak away without her knowing, but she seems to know more than she leads on."
Isabel will certainly be suspicious as to why Oliver is running off with his supposed assistant Felicity, but whether she believes Oliver is the Arrow remains to be seen. "She suspects he's more than meets the eye," she says. "She's on to him, but he's very smart and he's very dedicated to keeping this secret, so he's not making it easy for her."
Still, there could be more to Isabel's quest for dominance as fans learn more about her backstory in upcoming episodes. "She has her reasons for wanting to take over this particular company and for wanting to assert her control and feeling like she needs to understand Oliver better," Glau says. "Their relationship is definitely going to shift. I think she definitely has feelings for him. They're complicated feelings. Sometimes she wants to reach across the table and strangle him, but she also has a growing respect for him."
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
