Arden Cho is not returning for Teen Wolf next season. The actress, who plays Kira Yukimura on the MTV supernatural drama, made the announcement via a YouTube video posted on Monday.

"It's been an amazing three-and-a-half years," the actress says in the video. "It's gone so fast. But unfortunately, it looks like we're wrapped up with Kira's story line and she won't be coming back for Season 6," she said. "Sometimes in a show where there's so many characters, there isn't always room for everyone and everyone's story lines,"

So what was showrunner Jeff Davis talking about last month when he told TVGuide.com that the next batch of episodes would return to WWII, specifically citing Cho's memorable turn as a Kitsune trapped in a Japanese internment camp? If the show doesn't need Cho for another WWII episode, does that mean they'll move away from the Dread Doctors' leftover Nazi experiment to hunt Scott and his pack in the fall?

The decision - no matter whose it was - leaves fans in a bit of a lurch as far as Kira is concerned. Her character was last seen going to training with the mystical skin walkers to get control of her Kitsune powers. She and Scott (Tyler Posey) had not broken up, leaving fans with the impression that Kira would be back, in full control of her powers, and ready to take her rightful place in the pack.

MTV told TVGuide.com they have no comment about Cho's exit at this time.

Do you think cutting Kira from next season is a good idea?
