James Van Der Beek; Katie Holmes
Now that Katie Holmes is free available, surely she'll soon be approached to appear in any number of projects. Our suggestion? Reuniting with her Dawson's Creek cohort James Van Der Beek on his ABC comedy Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 — and we're not the only ones thinking about it. In fact, creator Nahnatchka Khan is already cooking up ways that Joey and Dawson could reunite.

Khan would love to see Holmes portray a heightened version of herself, similar to what Van Der Beek does on the ABC comedy. "In my mind, I think it would be really funny if there is some sort of bad blood between her and James that's not really been addressed," she tells TVGuide.com. "Maybe she comes because something bad happens to James and she comes to celebrate. For example, if she thinks it's his funeral and she shows up in a red dress with champagne, like, 'Ding dong, the Beek is dead!'"
"I'd love to see her saucier side," Van Der Beek concurs. "I think it would be fun if she came on as herself, but a demented, bizarro version."
While co-star Dreama Walker agreed with Van Der Beek and Khan, Krysten Ritter had other thoughts for Holmes. "I want Katie Holmes to be my lesbian love interest," she says.

Actually securing the actress, whose other credits include How I Met Your Mother, Eli Stone and Batman Begins, would likely be next to impossible, but her presence will loom large over the Tuesday, Oct. 23 premiere (9:30/8:30c) — at least her name will. "We have a big season premiere episode that's dealing with James potentially trying to do a Dawson's reunion and his version of what that would look like," Khan says. "It would be a shame to not address it."
