Just days after Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted to sending lewd photos of himself to women, The New York Times reported that his wife, Huma Abedin, is pregnant.
According to the newspaper, Abedin, 35, is in the early stages of pregnancy.
During his new conference Monday, Weiner, 46, said he apologized to his wife for his behavior and that the couple has no intention of splitting up. "We will weather this," Weiner said. "I love her very much, and she loves me."
News of the pregnancy came as the photo scandal intensified — and pressure grew for the New York Democrat to resign. Andrew Breitbart, who appeared on The Opie & Anthony Show, claims he was unaware that he was being filmed as he passed around the picture he had of Weiner's genitalia on his cell phone. "I want an investigation from Sirius into what the hell happened there ... They used a surveillance camera that's in the room and did a screen grab of it and put it out there," he said on KFI.
Radio host Anthony Cumia released a statement saying Breitbart had no knowledge the photo would be made public and that he regrets it occurred. He later told Fox News Channel, "When you take a chunk of meat into a lion's den, someone's gonna take a bite."
