Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn is joining NBC's Shades of Blue for Season 2, TVGuide.com has learned.

Gunn has landed the recurring role of a former police officer who was a member of Harlee's (Jennifer Lopez) group of dirty cops and was once a protégée of Wozniak (Ray Liotta). After rising up through the ranks of the NYPD, she launched a political career and is now a city councilwoman who has her sights set on the mayor's office.

"As the season progresses, the details of her meteoric rise and her much darker and Machiavellian side comes to the fore," according to NBC.

After her Emmy-winning role as Skyler White on Breaking Bad, Gunn went on to star in the 2014 Broadchurchadaptation Gracepoint. She also starred in the pilot of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, but later left the show. She'll next be seen in the upcoming movie Equity, and has also signed on for the ABC comedy pilot Chunk & Bean.

Shades of Blue will return midseason on NBC. Are you looking forward to meeting Gunn's character?
